Academy of Educators seeks nominees

It is time to recruit members for the 2013 entering class of the AOE. If you are interested in membership we encourage you to contact your Department Chair and request nomination. Read more about the AOE in this letter from Drs. Julie Byerley and Beat Steiner.

Dear Faculty,

As we hope you are aware, UNC School of Medicine now has a thriving Academy of Educators (AOE) with nearly 200 members. Members are inducted into the AOE for their achievements as educators.  But the Academy strives to be more than an Honorary Society.  We have an active faculty development curriculum and are building mentorship and advocacy components focused on education.

It is time to recruit members for the 2013 entering class of the AOE.  If you are interested in membership we encourage you to contact your Department Chair and request nomination.  AOE membership can only be obtained through Chair nomination.

Of note, all are welcome to our Faculty Development events.  Even if you choose not to pursue AOE membership at this time we hope you will be on the lookout for AOE events you can participate in to improve your skills as an educator.

For more information about the AOE please see our webpage, http://www.med.unc.edu/aoe or contact one of us, the AOE Co-Directors.
