Quality Improvement Seed Grants - Call for Proposals

The UNC Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement (IHQI) will award five $50,000 grants to support quality improvement projects to be conducted July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015. Proposals are due February 3, 2014.

Projects may be initiated by staff and faculty from any department or unit at UNC Hospitals, UNC Faculty Physicians and UNC Physicians Network.

IHQI seeks to fund projects that: 

  • result in sustainable and meaningful improvement in the value of patient care;
  • align with UNC Health Care and UNC School of Medicine strategic goals;
  • increase improvement capacity and eliminate functional silos within UNC Health Care.

IHQI faculty and staff will provide in-kind support, training and consultation to project teams.

Established in 2013, IHQI’s mission is to:

  • Build skills in improvement science at UNC Health Care
  • Catalyze improvement efforts within UNC Health Care
  • Conduct research in quality improvement

Proposals are due February 3, 2014, with notification of awards by April 1, 2014 and anticipated project start date of July 1, 2014.
