Faculty Elections to be held April 14 – 21

School of Medicine faculty members are encouraged to vote in this year’s Office of Faculty Governance elections. Bruce Cairns, MD, Director of the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center, is a candidate for Faculty Chair. Elections will also occur for 12 elected committees. Faculty governance helps determine policy-making at UNC. Faculty from across the university, including in the School of Medicine, are impacted by decisions and recommendations made by the Faculty Council and elected and appointed committees. Therefore, School of Medicine faculty members are strongly encouraged to vote in this year’s elections, which will be held April 14 - 21.

This year Dr. Bruce Cairns, Professor of Surgery, is a candidate for Faculty Chair. Details about the voting process and the faculty elections schedule can be found below. 

Voting Process
On April 14, 2014, all members of the Voting Faculty will receive an email with a unique, individualized link to the balloting website. The ballot email will carry the subject line, “Faculty Elections Ballot 2014.”

To vote, simply click the balloting link and proceed through the pages to make your selections for each race for which you are eligible to vote. (The ballot will only offer you the races for which you are eligible to vote.) At the end, hit “submit,” and your vote will be registered.
