The UNC Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations has identified the following private funding opportunity:

 Elsa U. Pardee Foundation

Program funds research to investigators in US non-profit institutions proposing research directed toward identifying new treatments or cures for cancer. Grants are for one-year projects to either establish capabilities of new cancer researchers or new cancer approaches by established cancer researchers. This early stage funding by the Foundation may lead to subsequent and expanded support using government agency funding. Projects relevant to cancer detection, treatment and cure should be identified. Overhead is capped at 15%. IRB approval required prior to submitting application to Foundation. Final report is also required summarizing financial expenditure and research achievement.

Note: Previous awards from Foundation averaged $100,000 and over.
