Fred D. Foard Memorial Lecture features Marion Nestle

Marion Nestle, PhD, author of the best-selling book Food Politics, will deliver the keynote address at the 47th annual Fred D. Foard Memorial Lecture, hosted by the Gillings School of Public Health.

Nestle, Paulette Goddard Professor and former chair of the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health and professor of Sociology at New York University, earned a Master of Public Health in public health nutrition and a Doctor of Philosophy in molecular biology, both from University of California at Berkeley.

She is author of Food Politics: How the Food Industry Influences Nutrition and Health and Safe Food: The Politics of Food Safety, among other best-selling books. In 2003, Food Politics won awards from the Association for American Publishers for outstanding title in allied health, a James Beard Foundation literary award, and World Hunger Year award.
