National Center for Responsible Gaming Offers Large Grant Program

The National Center for Responsible Gaming has announced a call for proposals in their Large Grant Program. Funding provides up to two years of support for discrete, specified and circumscribed research projects related to gambling disorders. Funding requests of up to $75,000 per year for 24 months are allowed. PI must have an MD or other terminal degree. Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline is May 1, 2015.

Program provides up to two years of support for discrete, specified, circumscribed research projects related to gambling disorder. Up to $75,000 in direct costs per year for 24 months can be requested. Funding priority is on screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) in order improve identification of disordered gamblers, explore efficacy of brief interventions for this population and increase rate of disordered gamblers referred to treatment. NCRG is open to a wide variety of proposals for research provided they are focused on adult populations. NCRG welcomes proposals that involve collaboration between academic institutions and health care providers, such as hospitals, as well as state and local departments of public health. Grants are awarded under leadership of Scientific Advisory Board. PI must have a MD, other terminal degree.
