Science in the News is a new outreach group targeted to adults in the general public who want to learn more about science topics they hear about in the news that affect their daily lives. Too often does misinformation and confusion spread because of news organizations wanting to have attention-getting headlines and because of a lack of science understanding/explanation. SITN aims to explain science more clearly and thoughtfully through discussion-based seminar sessions.

Our next meeting will be February 12 at 7pm and our topic is "The Air We Breathe." We meet at the Chapel Hill Public Library in Room C. If you are interested in learning more about science in an informal setting with UNC grad students and post docs, please join us!
