Quality Improvement Seed Grants - Call for Proposals

The UNC Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement (IHQI) will award 6 - 8 $50,000 grants to support quality improvement projects to be conducted July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017. Projects may be initiated by staff and faculty from any department or unit at UNC Hospitals, UNC Faculty Physicians and UNC Physicians Network.

IHQI seeks to fund projects that: 

  • result in sustainable improvement in clinical care and outcomes
  • align with UNC Medical Center and UNC School of Medicine strategic goals
  • increase improvement capacity
  • promote collaboration across units and departments

IHQI faculty and staff will provide in-kind support, training and consultation to project teams.

Established in 2013, IHQI’s mission is to:

  • Build skills in improvement science at UNC Medical Center
  • Catalyze improvement efforts within UNC Medical Center
  • Conduct research in quality improvement

Letters of intent are due Oct. 12, 2015. Applicants will be invited to submit proposals by Oct. 19, 2015 with notification of awards by Feb. 26, 2016 and anticipated project start date of July 1, 2016.
