American Heart Association: Innovative Research Grant

The American Heart Association is accepting applications to a research grant program supporting innovative high-risk, high-reward research that could lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate the field of cardiovascular and stroke research. Award amount is up to $75,000 per year for up to two years. Application deadline is July 26.

The American Heart Association is accepting applications to a research grant program supporting innovative high-risk, high-reward research that could lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate the field of cardiovascular and stroke research. The Innovative Research Grant promotes new ideas, so proposals do not need to include preliminary data. Research that is broadly related to cardiovascular function, disease and stroke, or to related clinical, basic science, bioengineering or biotechnology and public health problems, are eligible. Applications must have an MD, PhD, DO or equivalent doctoral degree. Eligibility is not restricted based upon experience level or seniority, but applicants must have a faculty appointment. Indirect costs cannot exceed 10 percent of the total annual amount.
