Inaugural Back to Carolina Program to be held April 16

A new event is being added to the Spring Alumni Weekend festivities. Back to Carolina is being hosted by the Dean's Office, Executive Associate Dean Joanne Jordan, MD, MPH, and Hugh Smith, Associate Director for Faculty Pipeline Initiatives.

The event welcomes UNC School of Medicine alumni who identify as being from an underrepresented minority group. The aim is to keep these alumni engaged in the latest developments taking place at the School of Medicine.

The event will consist of a faculty panel, a luncheon and networking. Leon Herndon, MD, a UNC School of Medicine graduate and current faculty member at Duke, will present a keynote lecture.

The event will be held Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History.
