The Larry Keith Advisory College, an advising and professional development program established in 2008 at the UNC School of Medicine, is looking for the right individuals to join this dynamic group.  The program was developed in order to create an organized and structured system of advising and mentoring whereby students benefit from the ongoing support and wisdom of experienced UNC SOM faculty and educators.  One goal of this program is to foster a relationship between each student and a faculty member so that students can receive guidance and counseling throughout medical school and successfully create their own identity as a physician. Another important goal is building community within the medical school. For additional information see the following website:  http://www.med.unc.edu/advisorycolleges.

Interested individuals must have the support of their department chair. The Advisory College funds twenty percent of each advisor’s salary in return for a commitment of twenty percent time to the program. Each advisor is assigned a total of approximately 65 students from all four years of the curriculum.

Please encourage your interested faculty to submit a letter of interest and CV to Jeri Copeland at jeri_copeland@med.unc.edu or 1001 Bondurant Hall, CB# 9535, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-9535 by June 27.
