American Thoracic Society: 2016 ATS Foundation Research Program

The American Thoracic Foundation is accepting letters of interest for unrestricted research grants for one year for supplies, salaries or a combination of these two. Only five awards will be made; one grant will be awarded in each of the Foundation's three society pillars (pulmonary, critical care, and sleep) and two awards will be made to the top scores in any category. Award amount is up to $40,000 for one year. LOI deadline is June 20, 2016.

The American Thoracic Foundation is accepting letters of interest to receive unrestricted research grants for one year for supplies, salaries or a combination of these two. Only five awards will be made; one grant will be awarded in each of the Foundation’s three society pillars (pulmonary, critical care, and sleep) and two awards will be made to the top scores in any category. Applications in basic, patient-oriented and public health topics are welcomed. In the area of public health, the ATS Foundation is interested in funding projects that will inform health policy decisions. The ATS Foundation is interested in enabling new investigators and giving them the chance to make the transition to careers as established investigators. Applicants must have completed their primary research training (PhD or sub-specialty fellowship training) by July 1, 2016. Partnerships between junior and senior investigators are strongly encouraged, particularly for new investigators who are within 1 to 5 years of the completion of their research training. At least one of the key personnel must be an ATS member at the time of the application.

LOI Deadline: June 20. Invited full proposals will be due September 14 with anticipated funding decisions announced in November. Application Guidelines for the award.
