National Endowment for Financial Education: NEFE Research Grants

The National Endowment for Financial Education is accepting letters of intent to fund innovative research that makes an impact in financial literacy; diverse disciplines are encouraged to apply (examples included behavior, economics, neuroscience, sociology, psychology, marketing, finance, education, change theory, decision sciences and others). Projects should be actionable in the field of financial literacy and directly relevant to the financial well-being of the public, and able to be applied broadly. Award amount is up to $150,000 over 1 - 3 years. The submission deadline is Dec. 6, 2016.

The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is accepting letters of intent to fund innovative research that makes impact in financial literacy; diverse disciplines are encouraged to apply (examples included behavior, economics, neuroscience, sociology, psychology, marketing, finance, education, change theory, decision sciences and others). Projects should be actionable in the field of financial literacy and directly relevant to the financial well-being of the public, and able to be applied broadly. NEFE does not give advice or offer suggestions regarding project ideas. International programs or projects are not considered eligible projects for grant award. Funding priorities include:

  • Mitigation of the decay in the impact of financial education interventions
  • Young adult behaviors/emerging households (special emphasis on samples beyond college students)
  • Retirement age/diminishing capacity
  • Technology and education
