Free to Breathe: 2016 Accelerate Clinical Trials Program

Free to Breathe is accepting applications to fund pilot research projects that will investigate novel strategies to improve accrual of patients with lung cancer to therapeutic clinical trials by at least 50 percent within a defined health care facility, system or community. Award amount is up to $100,000 over two years. Application deadline is Oct. 28.

Free to Breathe is accepting applications to fund pilot research projects that will investigate novel strategies to improve accrual of patients with lung cancer to therapeutic clinical trials by at least 50 percent within a defined health care facility, system, or community. Proposals must have a clear vision about how the pilot project, if successful, can then be expanded to other institutions for validation of the intervention or strategy. The aim of Free to Breathe is to fund projects that will be replicable and implementable to a wider community as well as applicable to other cancer types. No more than 20 percent of the requested budget may be used for salary and fringe benefits for the PI(s). Indirect costs are capped at 8 percent.
