In celebration of the fantastic resident physicians at UNC, the Gold Humanism Honors Society is proud to announce the annual Resident Appreciation Week!

From the Gold Humanism Honor Society:

The UNC system is home to some of the most talented, caring, and dedicated resident physicians in the country and we are excited to offer this opportunity to support and celebrate them. Multiple local restaurants (see list in attached flyer) will be featuring discounts for residents this week. Additionally, we have partnered with Franklin Street Yoga to offer a week of FREE yoga for all residents (4/19-4/25). The week of celebration will conclude with an ice cream social 4/21 from 1-2pm on the Starbucks patio.

Included during the week is a new effort that encourages students to write letters to residents who have been particularly influential teachers. These letters will then be delivered to residents. If you would like to participate, please email your note (or questions) to Danielle (danielle_martin@med.unc.edu) by midnight on Sunday, April 16. Please clearly state the resident's name and department in your note.

Throughout the week, we hope that students, faculty, and staff will reflect on the significant contribution that residents make to the lives of their patients, while training students and gaining new knowledge themselves. Our residents are shaping the future of medicine, and for that we sincerely thank them.
