The Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development is excited to offer MORE (Mindful Opportunity for Reflecting on Experience), an eight-week training program in mind-body medicine open to residents and faculty. Co-facilitated by Dr. Jonny Gerkin and Dr. Amy Weil, MORE will teach participants how to access and maintain their capacity to remain present and calm. The training has been shown to improve patient care and improve provider empathy. All program costs will be covered.

Beginning September 14, 2017, MORE will be offered on eight consecutive Thursday afternoons. The ideal participant will be a rising chief resident, wellness champion, or junior faculty member interested in offering this training to others in his or her program or department.

Applications are due by 5 pm on August 31, 2017 to Lauren Westervelt, Assistant Director for Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (lauren_westervelt@med.unc.edu). To apply, applicants should submit a one-page essay describing their interest in the program and how they would share the information within their own unit.
