Gold Humanism Honor Society celebrates Resident Appreciation Week

During the week of April 17, the UNC chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society celebrated its annual Resident Appreciation Week. Events included a Maple View ice cream social attended by roughly 200 residents, a week of free yoga from Franklin Street Yoga Studio, a photo booth, a raffle, and discounts at local restaurants throughout the week.

As a novel event, medical students were also asked to write letters of appreciation to those residents who made a particularly strong personal and/or professional impact. Over 70 letters of appreciation were collected and distributed to the residents, and the response from the was overwhelmingly positive, with responses such as "Thank you so much for passing along such kind words. You guys are all awesome and it is a privilege to work with such a wonderful group of students.”
