Health Insurance Dependent Eligibility Audit

The Benefits Office has been notified that the State Health Plan (SHP) is conducting a full dependent audit this summer. They have instructed our office that letters will be sent to SHP members by the end of the month, and you will have until July 31 to provide proof of your dependent’s eligibility. Failure to provide proof by that date will result in coverage being cancelled August 1, 2017.

The Benefits Office recommends pulling together the documentation you will need to prove a dependent’s eligibility now, so you are ready when you receive the request.  You can find a list of appropriate documentation here:

We do not yet know how/where the SHP will require you to submit these documents. However, you can use the 'HR InTouch' enrollment system to verify which documents you have uploaded during previous benefits enrollment periods using the following steps:

  • Click on “enroll now”
  • Click link to the left that says “My Documents”
  • Anything you’ve uploaded to date will be listed there.

We will share more information as the Benefits Office receives it. In the meantime, please begin to pull together the necessary documentation to verify your dependents.
