Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation: Damon Runyon Physician-Scientist Training Award

The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation is accepting applications from physicians interested in pursuing research intensively (up to 80% effort) for up to four years, while, if they wish to maintain their clinical skills, continue to be clinically active (no more than 20% effort). To be eligible, applicants must have MDs only and must have completed their residencies and clinical training and be US Specialty Board eligible prior to the award start date. Award amount up to $460,000 over four (4) years. The application deadline is December 1, 2017.

The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation is accepting applications from physicians interested in pursuing research intensively (up to 80% effort) for up to four years, while, if they wish to maintain their clinical skills, continue to be clinically active (no more than 20% effort). To be eligible, applicants must have MDs only and must have completed their residencies and clinical training and be US Specialty Board eligible prior to the award start date. Also, applicants may not have had more than three years of postdoctoral laboratory research experience. Applicants must able to devote at least 80% of their time and effort to Damon Runyon-supported research. MD/PhDs are not eligible to apply. Applicants holding or awarded NIH K awards at the time of the application are not eligible. Applicants must apply with a Mentor. Only one fellowship application will be accepted from a Mentor per review session, but there is no limit to the number of applications from an institution. The candidate may not have had more than three years of postdoctoral laboratory research experience. Awards are made to the institution, not the individual. This award does not allow indirect costs.
