Enders first joined UNC Health Care in 2012 as president of Chatham Hospital. He has also served in other leadership roles across UNC Health Care, including as interim vice president of Human Resources and interim president of Wayne UNC Health Care, all while maintaining his position at Chatham.

As Enders transitions to CEO of UNC Lenoir, Jeff Strickler, Vice President of UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus, will begin serving as interim President of Chatham Hospital.

Prior to serving as Chatham Hospital President, Bob previously served as President/CEO of Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, NC – now called UNC Rockingham Health Care – from 1987-2008 and as Administrator of Pioneer Health Services of Patrick County in Stuart, Va., from 2009 – 2011. Bob is a graduate of the University of Virginia and has a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.

“I look forward to continuing my service to the health care system in my new role at UNC Lenoir,” said Enders. “Providing quality care to the people of North Carolina is a vital part of community hospitals’ mission. I am honored by the opportunity to lead this effort in Kinston.”
