Beginning immediately, we ask that everyone at Go-Live #1 locations call-in ALL Epic@UNC issues to the Help Desk at 984-974-4357. To ensure no issues are missed, ISD will continue to monitor the fax line for low priority tickets in the short-term.

Dragon Medical 360 Network Edition Dictation is the dictation tool selected for provider voice transcription recognition in Epic@UNC. As with all aspects of Epic@UNC, training is required before clinicians providers receive a Dragon login/password and any appropriate hardware.

Within Epic@UNC, best practice advisories and references for evidence-based practice are available through CPM, our new interdisciplinary Clinical Practice Model. To help us become familiar with CPM and its integration into Epic@UNC, all clinical staff were recently assigned an e-Learning course titled “Clinical Practice Model for UNC Health Care” in LMS.

The use of IV acetaminophen has continued to increase since its addition to UNC’s formulary. The Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee has approved the clinically appropriate use of IV acetaminophen (Ofirmev®) only in situations where oral or rectal acetaminophen cannot be used.

Epic@UNC e-learning classes are now available via the new LMS. These courses are based on the Epic@UNC Course Catalog and provide an introduction to the applications and workflows of Epic@UNC.

Beginning June 17, 2013, new colleagues joining UNC Health Care will use both a new login ID format called the “uID” and a new email address formatting standard - "firstname.lastname@domain." These changes will not affect the login IDs or email addresses of current users.
