The purpose of this program is to strengthen the capacities of state and/or local-level organizations to respond to emerging public health issues affecting maternal and child health (MCH) populations. This funding opportunity is a mechanism to support capacity and strengthening activities to improve state and/or local-level organizations’ abilities to address emerging issues threatening the health and well-being of MCH populations in an effective, timely manner.

The Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering program invests in future leaders who have the freedom to take risks, explore new frontiers in their fields of study, and follow uncharted paths that may lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Twenty recipients will receive individual grants of $875,000 distributed over five years.
