The UNC Department of Pediatrics' central administrative team, led by N.C. Children's Hospital chief physician and department chair, Dr. Wesley Burks, took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge August 29, 2014 in front of an amused crowd.

Standing before the entrance to the N.C. Children's Hospital, Dr Burks began "the wave" with a thorough drenching of water and ice, followed by 12 other participants. Photo and video compilations offer an up-close and personal look at being cold for a good cause!

The participants, and those who sponsored them, raised more than $850 for the ALS Association. Not a bad way to end the week!
