Google searches may result in blocked sites

UNC Health Care’s web filtering software blocks all online advertisements, including Google ads. When you search for a web site through Google, if the site comes up with a yellow “Ad” box next to it, it will be blocked if you click directly on this link.

If you type the URL directly in your browser, and the site is appropriate for work use, it will not be blocked. Google ads and other online advertising are blocked because the methods used to track responses to online ads carry a virus risk. Please do not put in a HEAT ticket for these instances.
