Sentry Suite pulmonary diagnostic software upgrade Aug. 18

On Tuesday night, Aug. 18, ISD will upgrade the Sentry Suite pulmonary diagnostic software used at UNC Hospitals’ Adult and Pediatric Pulmonary Labs, the UNC Pulmonary Clinic at Meadowmont and the UNC Children’s Specialty Clinic at Rex.

Note the following:

  • For non-pulmonary providers, there will be new order panels available Wednesday, Aug. 19, for the inpatient ordering of Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)
  • Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 19, new workflows will enable adult pulmonologists to order pulmonary tests that will automatically route to lab technicians to conduct patient testing
  • After the upgrade, all test results will be transmitted to Sentry Suite in real time, which will allow for provider interpretation before results are automatically filed into Epic@UNC.
