Attention Annual Parking Permit Holders

Annual Parking assignments for the 2015/2016 parking year are now available. For 2015/2016, there are two types of permits: annual, which renew automatically every year, and expiring, which are blue paper permits with handwritten dates valid until Aug. 14, 2015. Crane at Neurosciences Hospital loading dock July 11

On Saturday, July 11, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., a crane will be placed at the Neurosciences Hospital loading dock for the placement of HVAC ductwork over the roof of the ambulance entrance to the Emergency Department. UNC Hospitals Police will assist with vehicular and pedestrian traffic control. Vehicular access to the Women’s and Children’s and Anderson Pavilion loading docks will remain open.

Granix (tbo-filgrastim) on formulary starting Tuesday, July 7

Starting July 7, both UNC Medical Center and Rex will start using Granix (tbo-filgrastim) in place of filgrastim (Neupogen) in all patients EXCEPT pediatric patients and bone marrow transplant patients. This change was reviewed and approved by both the UNC Hospitals and Rex Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees and several multidisciplinary committees.

Fire alarm and sprinkler testing July 10, 14 - 17

A quarterly inspection and test of the fire alarm and sprinkler system is taking place throughout the hospital July 10, 14 - 17. Inspection and testing are also taking place at the Imaging & Spine Center, Sanford Dialysis, Joint Child Care, and Hedrick Building. The alarm tones and door closings will be held to a minimum.
