Overall compliance results for January were 96.3% for inpatients and 96.4% for outpatient/procedural areas. See which areas performed best this month!

View overall compliance results (Intranet link).

In January, inpatient areas achieved 96.3% compliance overall. 92.5% of the inpatient units and 90% of the job classes met the goal of at least 90% compliance. (BEST compliance and consistency in units yet!)

Outpatient/procedural areas achieved 96.4% compliance overall with 68% of the outpatient/procedural areas and 80% of the job classes meeting the goal of at least 90% compliance. (BEST compliance and consistency in areas yet!)

ORs achieved 87.2% compliance overall.

Thanks to those areas who completed targeted action planning in November and December.

  • If your unit or job class is having difficulty achieving 90% compliance, this action planning tool (example paper tool inpatientoutpatient/proceduralelectronic submission) is available for you to use and hand hygiene advisory members will be available to assist you in developing strategies for improvement (please request assistance by emailing hand@unch.unc.edu).
  • Units and job classes with consistently high compliance (you know who you are!) – won’t you share your secrets and success stories with us (send to hand@unch.unc.edu)? You can be a local celebrity – featured in our very own News for Employees!

In January, our feedback frequency returned to some of the highest levels yet. Feedback was provided for 57.4% of all inpatient observations, 47.7% of all outpatient/procedural observations, and 50.3%  (BEST ever!) of all OR observations.  Tips/scripting for providing feedback is here.

Thanks to new physician/APP providers who submitted this month: Stuart Pierce (OB/GYN)! And continued appreciation to our providers who are steadfast in their participation: Megan Andrews (Transplant-VAD/Heart Program), Tom Ivester (OB/GYN), Kathy Bradford (Pediatrics), Tina Willis (Pediatrics) and Margaret Kihlstrom (Pediatrics). Can you each teach one (or more) of your colleagues how to submit observations using the survey tool on the Intranet home page?
