Effective Jan. 5, 2016, a hard stop will be implemented so that the After Visit Summary (AVS) will not be available for printing at discharge if there are any active vaccines on the MAR that have not been administered. Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols were implemented in Epic@UNC Jan. 6 at UNC Medical Center and UNC REX Healthcare. ERAS programs reduce hospital length of stay and improve post-operative pain control without increasing the rate of complication or readmission after surgery. The changes include order and order set updates, OR Status Board updates and Anesthesia/PAT Status Board updates. View details in this tip sheet.

Beaker Technical Dress Rehearsal begins Jan. 11

Upgrade for UNC Hospitals’ Pneumatic tube system Jan. 18
