Before this date, Unit Clerks/Secretaries had to attend a separate class to learn this functionality. Now, your staff will only have to attend one class to learn how to do all aspects of their roles.

The grief that follows the death of a young child is a rare and unique. UNC Hospitals Bereavement Support Services is offering a support group this fall to support those who are looking for healing.
Within hours of undergoing routine wisdom teeth surgery, Burlington teen Ayanna Smith found herself in the fight of her life. The cause? Sepsis. After Ayanna's mom and providers realized how dire the situation had become for her, she was quickly rushed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UNC Children’s, where her team of providers, including Drs. Ben Haithcock and Tina Schade Willis, among many others, helped save her life. After more than 40 days in the hospital, she is now recovering and resuming her life. Beginning July 19, 2016, the POS Payment Posting activities in Epic@UNC have been updated with screens to better define amounts due for today’s services as well as outstanding balances. It is the responsibility of all front desks to make patients aware of all hospital and physician amounts due and outstanding balances and to request and post payments accordingly at each patient encounter.

Beginning July 11, 2016, the Transfusion Medicine Services of UNC Hospitals' McLendon Clinical Laboratories will accept Pre-Profecture Type and Screen testing (T&S) drawn at any UNC clinic for surgery to be performed at UNC Hospitals or Hillsborough Hospital. Previously, these samples were only valid if collected through UNC Hospitals or Hillsborough Hospital PreCare Clinics.
