We’ve changed our name from Writing for Caregivers to Writing for Resilience to include everyone who wants to write! Writing for Resilience is a weekly writing respite -- a time to sit quietly and write in response to prompts: poems, quotes, and stories. All are welcome!
Held on May 21 at the Crunkleton on Franklin St., the event raised over $14,000 for childhood cancer research. Since 2011, six such events have been held at the Crunkleton. Cumulatively, these events have raised over 100,000 for childhood cancer research.

Two Administrative Manual policies regarding Medical Device Adverse Events have been combined. ADMIN 0062, "Safe Medical Devices Act," and ADMIN 0093, "Equipment - Incidents Involving Medical Device Adverse Events," have been combined into one policy. The surviving policy is found at ADMIN 0093 and is titled "Safe Medical Devices Act/Incidents Involving Medical Device Adverse Events." Other than combining the two policies into one, no major substantive policy revisions were made.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Bob Gianforcaro has accepted the new role of Executive Medical Director for Population Health for UNC Health Care effective July 1, 2016.
Beginning Friday, June 24, 2016, a redesigned bed placement matrix for Medicine and Family Medicine services at UNC Hospitals will result in the majority of Medicine and Family Medicine inpatients being grouped on one unit per team. Concurrently, Medicine and Family Medicine services will admit patients daily.
