Become an Employee Ambassador

UNC Health Care employees have a long history of giving back to their communities. In an effort to show our support of our employees, UNC Health Care has created the Employee Ambassador Program.

Each year our employees give of their time to support veterans, care for the environment and help bring the spirit of giving to local families during the holidays. Through this program, UNC Health Care will make a donation up to $250 to any 501(c)3 non-profit organization to which our employees give 50 or more hours of their time. This is UNC Health Care’s way of thanking its employees for giving back to their communities.

Employees wishing to earn a donation for hours volunteered in 2016 may do so by completing the online form with their charity’s information by COB Friday, March 31, 2017. Employees who are new to the program are also required to register as an Ambassador.

Requirements to earn a donation:

  • UNC Health Care or UNC School of Medicine employees or members of the faculty must work 20 or more hours per week
  • Register as an Employee Ambassador.
  • Volunteer a minimum of 50 hours between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016, to a 501 c(3) non-profit organization with a valid Solicitation License from its home state.
  • Ambassadors whose charities do not qualify may still have a donation made in their name to one of the more 800 charities participating in the NC State Employees’ Combined Campaign
  • Unless part of Community Service Leave, all volunteer services must be performed outside of an employee’s assigned working hours.
  • Ambassadors must be employed by UNC Health Care or the School of Medicine at the time of disbursement in May 2017.
