Enarson named Vice Dean for Strategic Initiatives at the UNC School of Medicine

Cam Enarson, MD, MBA has been named as Vice Dean for Strategic Initiatives for the UNC School of Medicine effective Jan. 1, 2018. In this role he will oversee initiatives which have major strategic importance to the School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals.

“Cam is an exceptional and accomplished leader who has worked across multiple departments at UNC,” said Wesley Burks, MD, MPH, Executive Dean of the UNC School of Medicine. “We are pleased to have him leading major initiatives within the medical school and UNC Hospitals including major building projects for the Medical Center campus and our preparation for the 2020 LCME site visit.”

Enarson is currently a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. He was appointed Senior Vice President, Carolina Value in January 2015 and has served as Interim President of the Medical Foundation of North Carolina since August 2015.  Dr. Enarson will continue to serve in an advisory role to Leslie Nelson, the newly appointed President of the Medical Foundation. From 2011-15 he served as Vice Dean for Finance and Administration, UNC School of Medicine and prior to this served as Senior Advisor to Dean Roper. Dr. Enarson was heavily involved with the UNC medical school's preparation for the successful March 2012 LCME survey visit and helped lead the institutional self-study.
