Habitat for Humanity kick off event - Feb. 9

Volunteers are needed to kick off construction of a Habitat for Humanity home in Hillsborough, Sat. Feb. 9. Shifts are from 8:15 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. under the supervision of a construction professional. The home will be owned by Anna-Marie Pellet with UNC Medical Center Environmental Services.

Anna-Marie’s home is sponsored by UNC Health Care and will be located at 301 College Park Rd., less than 1 mile from the UNC Hillsborough Hospital campus. No construction skills are necessary.

UNC Health Care and School of Medicine physicians, staff and students may register to volunteer online now at https://orangehabitat.volunteerhub.com/lp/unchealthcare1/. Shifts are from 8:15 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. under the supervision of a construction professional.

Any physicians, staff or students helping build the house are welcome to have a UNC Health Care Commitment to Communities T-shirt. Shirts are available for pickup in the office of Communications, Marketing and Customer Engagement at the Hedrick Building, 211 Friday Center Dr., suite 1069. No appointment is necessary.

This is the fifth Habitat for Humanity Home UNC Health Care has sponsored in the past nine years.
