Research has found that patients experience and report high levels of anxiety before, during, up to 3 years after a breast biopsy regardless of the results. This long term anxiety can lead to increased rates of heart disease, immune suppression, depressive symptoms, and PTSD symptoms.

Bozena Strom, RN, will discuss the factors that impact patients' anxiety levels before, during, and after minimally invasive breast biopsies and present nursing interventions that improve the breast biopsy patient's experience.
