Tax Preparation Assistance

Employees needing help with their tax preparation may qualify for free assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). Tax prep will not be onsite this year but will be available at VITA locations across NC and qualified employees can have their taxes prepared at State Employee Credit Union.

New Professional Business Attire Policy, Effective April 1

On April 1, UNC Medical Center will implement a new Professional Business Attire policy. The policy is designed to create standards for professional appearance in order to foster a positive working environment, promote workplace safety, and inspire confidence in quality care service delivery. Coming April 6: Widescreen view required for multiple specialties

​​The April 6 Epic@UNC Upgrade will include a switch from the “traditional” view to the “widescreen” view for a subset of providers (see full list below). With the “widescreen” view, users will no longer have the ability to use the Visit Navigator view. This is a required change by Epic in an attempt to increase the clinical workspace area and reduce scrolling.

Coming April 6: Standard Opioid Prescribing Schedule, Default Prescription Quantity, Updates to PDMP report
