Adult Rapid Response Calls Will Go Silent on March 2
Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 2, Adult Rapid Response calls at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill will no longer be announced overhead. Hospital operators will be notifying Adult Rapid Response team members of emergent situations by both Vocera and pager. This change in practice will result in a quieter environment and will decrease the anxiety that patients and families experience when hearing overhead emergency calls. New Patient Menus Coming March 3
Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) is excited to announce that we will be offering a new and improved patient menu starting on March 3. NFS will be distributing copies of the new menu to all units starting March 2 after 5 p.m., while also collecting all copies of the old menu. The new menus are a lighter shade of blue to to help you identify between the two different menus.
JCAHO Preparedness Survey Continues
As part of our Joint Commission preparedness effort Plant Engineering has a contractor moving through the hospitals and reviewing above ceiling and below ceiling conditions to make sure we meet Joint Commission requirements. The contractors began their work in the Neurosciences Hospital starting Feb. 26 and plan to complete that hospital by March 14.
