This year’s Whitehead Lecture will be a little different. This event, like other live, in-person events this year will be celebrated virtually. The 2020 Whitehead Lecture is set for Friday, September 4 beginning at noon. The School of Medicine’s executive dean, Dr. Cristy Page, is slated to kick off the event, and Dr. Koyal Jain to deliver the lecture. Dr. Jain will be presented with a certificate in recognition of her distinguished contributions to the science and art of medicine. The annual Whitehead Lecture and Awards Ceremony serves as an unofficial convocation for the School of Medicine. It is named in honor of Dr. Richard Whitehead, who served as dean of the School of Medicine from 1890 to 1905. The UNC School of Medicine Student Government Co-Presidents co-host the lecture. Visit this website for more on the 2020 lecture.
