Congratulations to the UNC School of Medicine MD Class of 2024, which celebrated their achievements in Roper Hall, the school’s new medical education building named after former Dean Bill Roper.

This year we had a 97% match rate, with 62 students set to serve patients across North Carolina.

We also want to thank Mandy Cohen, MD, MPH, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who joined our class of 2024 to celebrate Match Day and tour Roper Hall.

Cohen previously served as secretary of the NC Department of Health and Human Services and in that role was instrumental in North Carolina’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. During her remarks, she reflected on her own Match Day and let students know that this was a day that would remember throughout their career.
