Ebstein’s Anomaly: A Rare Disease Treated with World-class Care Here at Home

At ten years old, Jahliah Parker likes to have fun with her siblings, play on her Nintendo Switch, and, along with thousands of other children across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, is ready to go back to in-person school. She is an ordinary kid except for one little thing, her congenital heart condition. Jahliah suffers from Ebstein’s Anomaly, a rare disease treated with world-class care at UNC Health.

UNC Global Radiology: Addressing Imaging Inequities At Home Through a Global Health Lens

In late 2020, UNC Global Radiology addressed a health equity crisis in North Carolina using a model of community health partnership applied successfully in Kenya and Malawi. The COVID-19 pandemic has perpetuated a concerning trend of at-risk patients foregoing preventive healthcare across the U.S. In response, the UNC Department of Radiology is addressing local women’s health care imaging inequities through a global health lens.

NC State ASSIST and UNC Translational Research Collaborations RFA

UNC's NC TraCS and the Center for Advanced Self-powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) at NC State is seeking highly innovative proposals that address high-impact unmet clinical needs using NC State’s ASSIST-developed technologies. The goal of this Special Emphasis is to match UNC providers’ expertise of clinical challenges and unmet needs, with engineering faculty at ASSIST seeking to develop novel technology applications.
