Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second-leading cause of cancer death. Similar to breast cancer's pink ribbon, the nationally recognized blue star represents the eternal memory of the people whose lives have been lost to the disease and the shining hope for a future free of colon cancer. The Colon Cancer Alliance first launched the National Dress in Blue Day program in 2009 to bring national attention to colon cancer and to celebrate the courage of those affected by this disease.

Today, individuals, businesses and community groups across the country participate in National Dress in Blue Day by wearing blue and encouraging others to do the same. By "going blue," we hope to raise public awareness and educate people on the facts about colon cancer and how they can reduce their risk of the disease. Find out how you can get involved and put your stamp on it in 2015!
