Providers: Lab Orders default to 'New Collection' beginning Aug. 29
Beginning the week of Aug. 29, laboratory orders in Epic@UNC will default to 'New Collection' for all areas except Emergency Department patients. This change primarily affects ambulatory locations.
Planned Epic@UNC downtime Sunday, Oct. 2
There is a planned Epic@UNC downtime scheduled from 3 - 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 2. Epic@UNC will be down for 90 minutes while ISD applies an update.

Active Shooter Response Training is a one-hour class offered by UNC Hospitals Police for all UNC Health Care staff. Classes will be held at the Hedrick Building and the Hillsborough Campus. Please log in to LMS to sign up.

PTO Leave Sell Back Program Period ends Aug. 26
UNC Medical Center offers Paid Time Off (PTO) sell-back election periods quarterly to employees. Please note: During the August 2016 enrollment period, the minimum limit has been changed from 120 to 100 hours. Future enrollment periods will continue to have the minimum limit reduced until it matches the new 80-hour limit for 2017.

This informative training is designed to familiarize employees with the needs and concerns of LGBTQ patients.
Bell Tower Surface Visitor Lot parking spaces converted to hourly spaces
The 15 parking spaces at the Bell Tower Surface Visitor Lot have been converted to hourly visitor spaces with a three-hour limit. There is a pay station located in the lot and the spaces are available for all to use. This change was outlined by the university in the Deptartment of Public Safety Transportation & Parking 2011 – 2016 Plan.
