Ambulatory providers, staff: Steps to ensure you can close encounters

Some users are receiving an error message when trying to close encounters. These errors are due to a lack of clinical documentation in the encounter.

  • If you receive the error message (see a screenshot at this Intranet link), make sure the patient is checked-in for the visit. This will resolve most issues. 
  • If you don’t check-in patients, enter the reason for visit within the encounter.
  • If neither item above applies, you can change the status of the note you’ve documented to reflect the ‘Sign-on Saving’ note option (see a screenshot at this Intranet link).
