FastPass Offers To Be Sent During the Day Starting Oct. 16
To increase FastPass utilization and ensure any cancelled appointments are filled by patients who can use that appointment slot, patients on the waitlist for an appointment will begin receiving 'FastPass' appointment offers throughout the business day (at 8 a.m., noon, or 5 p.m.) on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Beyond the change in distribution time, FastPass is staying the same. More details here.

Grief Oasis Support Group
UNC Hospitals Chaplain & Bereavement Coordinator, Heidi Gessner, will lead a six-week Introductory Grief Series this fall. The group is open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one.

Benefit Open Enrollment: Nov. 2 - 19
This year's open enrollment period will be from Nov. 2 – 19. This is a shorter open enrollment period than in years past so please be ready to enroll when the period opens. Dual Employment Policy To Retire Dec. 31
The UNC Medical Center’s dual employment policy will retire on Dec. 31 2019. Effective Oct. 1, no new Dual Employment relationships will be approved. This will allow departments that are currently engaged in a Dual Employment arrangement with other state employees to reassess the need, and if still needed, they will have to determine how to hire them directly.
Have You Received Your Flu Shot Yet?
All health care personnel must be flu compliant by 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, as a condition of employment; this includes all administrative and clinical staff, medical students, resident, contractors and volunteers.The same requirement applies to Credentialed Providers and SOM Faculty and Staff enrolled in the medical surveillance program.
Open Notes for Ambulatory Providers: Coming Oct. 13
As a reminder, as part of our next Epic@UNC quarterly release, Open Notes will go live across all UNC Health Care ambulatory clinics on Sunday, Oct. 13. This is an effort to improve patient care, patient satisfaction, and transparency.
WebEx Training: HomeCare Specialist Order Updates and Routing Button
ISD is excited to announce the release of UNC Home Care Specialist’s “Ambulatory HME” Orders updates as well as a NEW Trach Suction/Supply order. The update for these orders , as well as a NEW routing button allowing providers to send HME orders directly to UNC Home Care Specialists Workque for processing , will go live with the Quarterly SU updates and go live Oct. 14.
UPDATED: Third Floor Cancer Hospital Corridor Closure
Starting Monday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Dec. 12, a portion of the corridor along the southeast side of the building will be closed for work that needs to be done as part of the Cancer Hospital Pharmacy Expansion project. See a map of the affected corridor at the link in the headline.
