Richard Cerione, PhD from Cornell University| Pharmacology Seminar
April 11, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Please welcome, Rick Cerione, PhD, Goldwin Smith Professor of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Cornell University, hosted by Kirsten Bryant, PhD. Dr. Cerione is a leading scientist in the field of Rho GTPases and how they influence cancer biology. The Cerione laboratory utilizes a combination of biophysical, chemical, and genetic-based approaches to obtain a comprehensive picture of how growth factor receptors work together with their signaling partners, in particular Rho GTPases and the GTP-binding/acyl transferase, transglutaminase, to trigger signals that impact a wide range of cellular activities. Research includes mechanisms of drug-induced toxicity.
Join us on Tuesday, April 11th for Dr. Cerione’s presentation at 4 PM in 1131 Bioinformatics, talk titled “A Career Studying Cell Signaling and Still Finding Surprises.”
Contact Mimi Le (my.le@unc.edu) by Monday, April 10th, 2023 for Zoom details.
