UNC Pharmacology Presents Sam Young, PhD, Hosted by Henrik G. Dohlman

January 30 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Sam Young earned his PhD at UNC and is now Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa. His research focus is molecular mechanisms of signal transduction in the nervous system, work that includes studies of Cav2.1 channel function at the synapse and their role in regulating synaptic transmission in neuronal circuits, as well as studies of the synapses that modulate and sustain synaptic transmission for the proper encoding of auditory information.

Please join us in 1131 Bioinformatics on Tuesday, January 30th at 4 PM when Dr. Young presents “Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of presynaptic CaV2 Calcium channel regulation of neurotransmitter release”.

Zoom available by request. Email Mimi Baltz at my.le@unc.edu by Monday, January 29th.
