“Unmet” Watch Party and Discussion

March 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

This watch party event will bring students, educators, and community members together to learn about the North Carolina Direct Support Personnel (DSP) crisis that impacts individuals with developmental disabilities in our state. This collaborative event is hosted by the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities and UNC’s Department of Health Sciences.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. It is important to understand some of the larger, system level issues that impact this population across our state. The NC Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) produced a short film highlighting the direct support personnel crisis we are currently experiencing in our state. In collaboration with NCCDD, the Occupational Therapy students at UNC are hosting a watch party of this film on March 20 at 5:30pm in Bondurant G100. The event will include the film showing, additional content from the filmmakers, and an opportunity for open dialogue with NCCDD. This event is free and will include dinner with registration. This watch party is relevant to students, health care providers, educators, and community members. Please register and join us for this powerful event.
