Surgical team brings hearing to 3-year-old Charlotte boy
Surgeons at UNC Health Care recently performed the first-ever auditory brain stem implant done in a child. Three-year-old Grayson Clamp from Charlotte, N.C., was born with no cochlear nerves and as a result could not hear.

Hearing Grayson's story around the world
Much of the world was fascinated late last week with the story and video footage of Grayson Clamp hearing for the first time. Grayson is a 3-year-old patient from Charlotte who is the first at UNC Hospitals, and among the first in the U.S., to receive an auditory brain stem implant as part of an FDA-approved trial. Introducing the Epic@UNC Core Team
We are proud to introduce the Core Team of 200 co-workers from across the UNC Health Care System who will lead the implementation of our Epic@UNC enterprise information system. Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 22, Core Team members will be dedicated to the Epic@UNC project for 100 percent of their working time, so we also thank the departments who have allowed colleagues to join the Core Team.
