Child Maltreatment Outreach Service connects UNC Health Care hospitals via Telemedicine
A grant from The Duke Endowment funded the creation of the Telemedicine Child Maltreatment Outreach Service. The service connects six UNC Health Care facilities to the UNC Child Protection Team for consultation in suspected cases of child abuse.

It is the policy of UNC Health Care to provide effective oral and written communications for individuals with disabilities. If necessary to afford access to information and services provided by UNC Medical Center (such as visit summaries, educational information, bills, etc.), the Medical Center must provide appropriate “auxiliary aids and services” to the individual.

UNC Health Care Marks Dementia Friendly Hospitals Day with Expansion of Special Training Program
Governor Cooper proclaimed Sept. 26, 2019, as Dementia Friendly Hospitals Day in North Carolina. UNC Health Care marked the occasion by celebrating the expansion of its special training program aimed at providing better care for patients with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. UNC is the first hospital system in the state to implement this training program at multiple hospitals.

UNC Health Care Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief Effort
Our thoughts are with those who have suffered losses related to Hurricane Florence. The severity of this storm and its after effects dictate both an immediate and long-term response. Twenty-four of the thirty-four counties the NC Food Bank serves have been severely impacted by this storm.
