TEACCH Autism Program receives $120,000 grant from Autism Speaks
Principal investigator Mark Klinger, and co-investigator, Laura Klinger, will assess the effectiveness of the TEACCH School Transition to Employment Program (TSTEP) for adolescents and young adults (ages 16 – 21) with ASD.

UNC Hospitals Achieves New Status as Accredited Chest Pain Center
Hospitals that have received Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) accreditation have achieved a higher level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack, emphasizing the importance of treatment programs that provide more efficient and effective evaluation as well as rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.

Random Acts of Kindness video honoring World Kindness Day
After learning about patient safety culture, Paige Roberts, RN, CN IV, on 3 Anderson implemented Random Acts of Kindness as a way to share goodwill with patients and staff. As part of World Kindness Day in November, Paige and the staff on 3 Anderson made a video to share the kindness that's been spreading around UNC Hospitals!

Beginning with the first pay check of the New Year (Jan. 7, 2020), employee pay statements will be available through a new vendor, ADP. Additionally, pay statements will be now available on Saturday morning before each pay day (vs. Friday morning historically for state employees). The first pay stubs in 2020 will be available in ADP on Saturday, Jan. 4, for the Tuesday, Jan. 7, payday.

New image viewer in Epic@UNC for UNC Medical Center images
At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, the Epic@UNC image hyperlinks at UNC Medical Center will transition from Impax to UNC Health Care's new viewer, called NIL. The NIL viewer offers the same Epic@UNC-based image accessibility and tool sets as Impax.

Congratulations to the newly elected at-large members of the Medical Staff Executive Committee
The MSEC consists of the officers of the Medical Staff, the Department Chairs, the Chief Nursing Officer, the Deans of the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, the President of the House Staff Council, the President of UNC Faculty Physicians, and the President of UNC Hospitals. The MSEC acts on behalf of the Medical Staff on issues related to all aspects of medical practice. It receives reports on hospital operations, GME, and Nursing.
