This year's series will focus on trauma in the work place (vicarious/secondary traumatic stress) and the importance of taking care of yourself while providing the best care possible to patients. Workshop – Clinician Wellness Interventions: What’s the Role for Family and Friends?
Dr. Susan Martinelli serves as the Chair of The Department of Anesthesiology’s Wellness Committee and is also a member of the School of Medicine Wellness Committee. She will go through the evidence describing the effects of burnout. In addition, she will discuss an intervention that the Department of Anesthesiology is doing to incorporate provider’s support persons into wellness education.
